Max: Of course it’s you.
Detective Carter: It wasn’t personal Max. This is my job.
Max: Not personal? That’s cold. Even for you.
Detective Carter: You and your crew have been pushing drugs on those streets for -
Max: Me and my crew are none of your god damn business -
Detective Carter: God damnit, Max! I loved you! You think this was easy for me?! I gave you every opportunity to get out. To do the right thing!
Max: Is that what this is? Putting my friends and family behind bars. Is that “the right thing?”
(softens)
Detective Carter: Yes. It is. But it doesn’t have to be you. I came in here with an offer. I can’t promise you no time, but, if you give us what we’re looking for, I can cut years off.
Max: I give you what you’re looking for and I won’t have any years left to cut. We’re not like you detective. We trust each other. And we never break that trust.
