Vanessa: Oh my god, I can’t believe you’re getting married!

Jasmine: I know, it’s crazy.

(serious)

Vanessa: It is though, right?

Jasmine: No, I mean it’s crazy that I’m getting married -

(relieved)

Vanessa: I’m glad you said it cause I was gonna say, are you really okay being with only one... you know... for the rest of your life? But you can still back out, don’t worry.

Jasmine: I’m not backing out. I meant it’s crazy because it’s such a big moment in my life.

(realizing)

Vanessa: Of course.

Jasmine: But I’m definitely ready. I love David so much. He’s the best. He makes me feel so... special.

Vanessa: Right, but you don’t want other guys to make you feel... special too?

Jasmine: No, definitely not.

Vanessa: And you’re not worried about only one... you know -

Jasmine: Not worried at all.

Vanessa: You know, for me, I’m trying to... explore as much as possible, get as much experience as I can. That way, by the time I’m all the way where you are, you know, I’ll be ready. Hopefully.

Jasmine: All the way where I am? Vanessa, we’re the same age.

Vanessa: Oh I know girl, it’s crazy how fast you move. A girl can’t keep up. You’ll have 3 kids and a dog by the time I get engaged. Vanessa laughs and smiles at the admiring guys around her. She turns to Jasmine, realizes she’s insulted.

Vanessa: But that’s because you’re more - mature. Vanessa gives her a fake smile.

Jasmine: Right. So, who are you bringing to the wedding? Vanessa makes eyes at a guy that passes her.

Vanessa: I’m not sure yet, I had 3 ideas, but after tonight, there might be a 4th. You never know.

Jasmine: Do you even believe in marriage, Vanessa?

Vanessa: Well now that you ask, I’m just not sure if I’m meant to be with one person, you know?

Jasmine: So I guess it’s not the best time to ask you to be one of my bridesmaids?

Vanessa: Me? Really? Ugh, I’d be honored.

Jasmine: Really?! Oh good, I wasn’t sure. Cause it if wasn’t you, it’d have to be David’s sister...

Vanessa: You kidding? I’d be there for you through anything. Even marriage. Plus, you know how many hot, single guys are at weddings? Girl, it’s gonna be... ah-mazing. They laugh.
