Rose: Excuse me, do I -

Douglas: Know me? Kind of. Not yet. But you will soon. And you’re happy when you do, believe me.

Rose: Who are you?

Douglas: Douglas. And you’re Rose. And we’re - great together. Meant to be, even.

(laughs a little)

Rose: Okay, is this some sort of pick up line? It’s a new one, I’ll give you that.

Douglas: Years from now. When we meet... again. You’re just 22 now and right out of college. So young. You said you’d be stunned, you didn’t say you’d be stunning.

Rose: Okay, now this is getting wierd.

(shakes it off)

Douglas: God, it’s amazing to see you so young. I’m sorry, I don’t have much time.

Rose: Before what?

Douglas: Before I go back, to see... you, in the future.

Rose: Are you on drugs?

(smiles)

Douglas: You always say that when I say something stupid.

Rose: Do you need... help?

(smiles again)

Douglas: And then that. It’s kina your go- to.

Rose: Look, I don’t know you. And I think you should -

(checks his watch)

Douglas: Not yet, but you do later. Stay with me, Rose. I’ve got about another 30 seconds. I know it sounds crazy, and I don’t have time to explain, but I need you to remember something, 20 years from now. Really remember it, cause it’s a long time Rose, believe me.

Rose: Remember what?

Douglas: That love is timeless. That I never stopped thinking about that girl I met in a coffee shop 20 years ago. Never stopped thinking about... you. Remember that I had to do this. To tell you. Risk everything to be here with you, right now, for this one minute, because if I don’t say this now, you’d marry him... Jordan, in a couple months. Rose: Why are you smilling?

Douglas: Because you do end up remembering.

Rose: I don’t know what to think about you. But, let’s say for a moment, I understand... What makes you so sure I do?

Douglas: Because you say, as crazy as I was, you never forgot my smile and the way it made you feel. Or the way I picked up your book for you when you dropped it.

Rose: But I didn’t drop my - Rose accidently knocks over her book. He picks it up for her and slowly hands it back to her with a smile.

Douglas: You were on page 87. It’s a love story. Great ending. Trust me. Douglas takes one last look at her. His watch BEEPS, and he walks away. Rose is left stunned. She watches him go, thinks for a moment and then she smiles.
