Full Script

Sofia: I’m not sure why, but I just felt like I needed to come. I know it was just a break up, but it really hit me hard. You know? I mean he didn’t just leave me, he left me for another girl. Susan nods her head, getting upset herself.

Sofia: Like, one second we’re in this perfect, 3 year relationship, and the next, he decides -

Susan: - to move to Australia and date 20 year old models. Susan can’t keep it together. She buries her head in her hands, crying. Still in her hands -

Susan: I’m sorry.

Sofia: Are you okay Mrs. Weber?

Susan: Miss.

Sofia: What? Susan finally lifts her head.

Susan: It’s Miss Weber. He left. That bastard left me for some 20-year- old Aussie with a lower back tattoo and a selfie stick. Sofia is shocked. She doesn’t know what to say.

Sofia: Okay... Maybe this isn’t the best time for me to -

Susan: I’m so sorry. This is so unprofessional.

(realizing)

Sofia: No, it’s okay, I understand. In fact, I understand exactly how you feel. Susan cries more.

Susan: I know, you do. That’s what got me going. These damn men!

Sofia: Yeah, screw them.

Susan: Screw them! Even therapists have problems, you know?

Sofia: Oh, yeah, I’m sure -

Susan: I’m supposed to be this steel trap. You can say anything to me, but I can’t say anything back. I can’t ever say how I feel. I have feelings too!

Sofia: Of course, Mrs. - Miss - Weber -

Susan: Call me Susan. Please, I don’t want to hear that bastard’s last name.

Sofia: Susan... I can listen. Do you want to sit over here with me?

Susan: Really? Sofia nods with a soft smile.

Susan: You really mean it?

Sofia: Of course. Sofia pats the spot next to her on the couch.

Susan: Oh you’re the best, thank you. Susan rushes to sit next to Sofia and rests her head on Sofia’s shoulder. Taken aback, Sofia awkwardly puts her arm around Susan’s shoulder and pats her hair.

Sofia: It’s okay, Susan... Now why don’t you tell me everything that happened. Start from the very beginning and don’t leave anything out. Susan sighs.

Susan: Okay... well, it all started when he went to this Australian pub in midtown -
