The Infected

(off Robin’s look)

Jason: We should be safe in here. The Infected become vurnerable to metal. According to scientists.

Robin: Hope so. They walk farther inside.

Robin: Wow, look at this place. Never seen it so empty. They take a seat on the benches.

Jason: This was always the last place I wanted to be. But not today.

Robin: Really? I liked school actually. But yeah, today’s different. We’re the lucky ones. Thank god you were there. How did you find me so fast?

(trying to dodge)

Jason: What do you mean?

Robin: As soon as I was in trouble, it was like you were already there.

Jason: Oh, you know, good timing I guess. Jason tries to hide his blushing. Robin notices.

Robin: Were you following me?

Jason: Following? No. I mean, I was just... making sure you were safe... at a short distance. Robin looks at Jason a moment and smiles.

Robin: Well, I’m glad. Jason nods shyly. Robin looks around again.

Robin: I still can’t believe this. One day everything’s normal and the next...

Jason: The world falls apart.

Robin: Yeah. Long beat.

Jason: I always hated that my mom was a teacher here. It’s like I couldn’t be me, I always had to be Miss Keeton’s son.

Robin: Is that why you always try to get in trouble?

Jason: You think so? Well, yeah I guess. Man, the last conversation we had I was so mean to her. For no reason - now I probably won’t ever see her again.

Robin: Hey - We don’t know that.

Jason: Yeah, well we do know that I’m a dick.

Robin: I don’t think so.

Jason: Really?

Robin: You saved my life. I think you’re a pretty great guy. Jason smiles shyly.

Jason: You know, after this. If there is an “after”... maybe I could take you out sometime? Robin smiles at him.

Robin: Maybe.
