Full Script
Katherine: On time as usual. Richard smiles and shakes Katharine’s hand.
Richard: Always a pleasure, Katharine.
Katherine: For you, I’m sure.
(ignores her, smiles)
Richard: Americans. Always worried about being on time. Relax a little.
Katherine: Sunglasses inside? A little tacky, even for you, Richard. Richard takes his sunglasses off and looks around.
Richard: New purchase?
Katherine: As of last week. But if you’re looking for space, sorry, building’s already sold out.
Richard: Cute. I started with a few this size. I only buy with views of the park now. Always been a view guy.
Katherine: I bet.
Richard: Now, if you could please enlighten me as to why exactly I postponed my lunch at Babbo, other than to exchange pleasantries with you.
(smiles)
Katherine: Minken tells me BioTech is planning on selling 1,000 shares ahead of releasing Monday’s reports.
Richard: And that has what to do with me?
Katherine: Minken also tells me DHA is the would-be buyer, and through the deal, would quietly become the lion shareholder in BioTech.
Richard: Still waiting on the relevance -
Katherine: Oh I think you know the relevance. You... my friend, recently became the majority shareholder in DHA. Richard laughs a little.
Richard: Ah... Minken does like to talk. But I guess, come Monday, won’t matter, will it.
Katherine: Oh, BioTech won’t be selling any shares on Monday. Or ever for that matter. At least not without my consent. Because as of yesterday, 2PM, I am now the majority shareholder of BioTech. Richard’s face drops. He glares at her.
Richard: You son of -
(looks around)
Katherine: You knew I’d been eyeing BioTech for months and tried to swoop in right before I was about to close. Lucky for me, Minken’s more of a capitalist than you gave him credit for.
Katherine: 3. This “cute” little building was more than enough to persuade him to see the right side of things.
Richard: You just started a war.
(pats his shoulder)
Katherine: Don’t you know timing is everything? Europeans. Always late. Put your glasses back on Richard, anger doesn’t look good on you. Enjoy your lunch. Katherine walks away. Richard fumes, watching her go.
