Full Script
Taylor: Hey Chloe, your mom home?
(not looking up)
Chloe: She’s out.
Taylor: Do Millennials text more than they speak now?
Chloe: I’m not a Millennial, I’m Gen-Z. And I’m texting with my mom.
Taylor: Wow, impressive. I didn’t know Sarah was that tech savvy... does she say when she’ll be back? Chloe texts her mom. She starts laughing.
Taylor: What’s so funny?
Chloe: Nothing. She’ll be back in 5. She said to just hang here. Chloe puts her phone away. Taylor sits next to her.
Taylor: You and your mom are pretty close, huh?
Chloe: I guess.
Taylor: It would’ve taken my mom a year to text me that one conversation. Chloe laughs a little.
Chloe: Yeah she’s pretty good with texting... for an old person.
(thinks)
Chloe: 2. But it’s not like we talk about everything. Actually... Taylor, you have lots of boyfriends, can I ask you something?
(taken aback)
Taylor: Okay, not sure I agree with that, but... sure.
Chloe: So, I kinda like this boy at school, but how do I know if he likes me?
(smiles a little)
Taylor: Ah, the oldest question in the “high school girls handbook.”
Chloe: The what?
Taylor: Never mind. Honestly, you just have to feel it out. Has he given you any signs?
Chloe: Well he did just like my Insta post two days ago.
Taylor: Okay, that’s something, but I mean more like... does he talk to you a lot? Other than text. Like, show interest in things you’re doing?
Chloe: Well, I mean, we’re friends, so we talk. But he talks with other girls that we’re friends with too.
Taylor: Right. My best advice. Tell him how you feel and see what happens.
Chloe: But that’s so... scary.
Taylor: I know. And you have to be prepared for whatever he says. Any guy would be lucky to have your attention. And if you remember that and you’re brave enough to put yourself out there, then you have nothing to lose.
Chloe: Thanks, that means a lot. Chloe hugs Taylor.
Taylor: Anytime. Let me know how it goes. KNOCK at the door.
Chloe: Mom’s home.
