Full Script

Dr. Watson: The police say it's a robbery gone wrong. Open and shut.

Sherlock Holmes: The police say a lot of things. Most of them wrong.

Dr. Watson: The window's broken, the safe is empty. What more do you need?

Sherlock Holmes: I need you to look at the glass, Watson. Which way did it fall?

Dr. Watson: Inward. Someone broke in from outside.

Sherlock Holmes: Except the glass is on the outside sill. Someone broke it from the inside.

Dr. Watson: So... the victim staged the robbery?

Sherlock Holmes: The victim is the criminal. Insurance fraud. But that's the boring part.

Dr. Watson: There's a boring part?

Sherlock Holmes: The interesting part is who helped him. (beat) Notice the two wine glasses. One has lipstick. His wife's shade.

Dr. Watson: His wife was in on it.

Sherlock Holmes: His wife planned it. He's far too stupid to have thought of this himself.
