Prototype Meeting
Perfect doll confronts her existential crisis with help from a human
Full Script
Barbie: I'm having... thoughts. Irrepressible thoughts about death.
Gloria: You too? I thought that was just a human thing.
Barbie: What do you mean 'you too'? You're supposed to have problems. I'm supposed to be perfect!
Gloria: Perfect? Honey, I spent forty years being told perfect is a size two with no opinions.
Barbie: But that's exactly what I am! Was. I don't know what I am anymore.
Gloria: That's the point. You're becoming real. And real means complicated.
Barbie: I don't want complicated! I want dreamhouses and convertibles and... and feeling nothing!
Gloria: Feeling nothing isn't a dream. It's a prison.
Barbie: Then why does feeling something hurt so much?
Gloria: Because that's how you know you're alive.
